Geoff ’s top six perennial choices for a cottage garden

-

ORIENTAL POPPY, PAPAVER (ORIENTAL GROUP) ‘PRINZESSIN VICTORIA LOUISE’ – allow plenty of

room for it to form a clump. BEARDED IRIS – plant with the top of its rhizome exposed to the sun. AQUILEGIA – grow from seed or buy named cultivars. This is a prolific self-seeder. DAYLILY HEMEROCALLIS CULTIVARS – tough and easy

to grow from rhizomes. FOXGLOVE, DIGITALIS PURPUREA – put in plants or grow from seed. Purpurea is our native species, but there are many named cultivars, too. PEONY, PAEONIA LACTIFLORA – choose between the traditional dark pink and named cultivars.
