Impressing and surprising visitors around every corner was Lord Fairhaven’s intention when he created the garden around his Jacobean-style home in the 1920s, and it does so still in abundance. The dazzling Winter Walk has appeal for all the senses, from the scents of honeysuckle, viburnum and sarcococca; the sight of fiery scarlet willow and red-barked dogwood; to the feel of tactile bark in the grove of Himalayan silver birch.
