Period Living

END OF A N ER A

- Nadja Flowerdew

Having found out that we’re expecting again, it is time for us to say goodbye to our beloved home and let someone else enjoy its unique character. I just wanted to write in as a way to celebrate our Grade Ii-listed house. It is a semi-detached 1910 Arts and Crafts farmworker’s cottage and was built to replace another, much older cottage.

It is absolutely gorgeous, solidly built with lots of historic detail. We don’t know quite when parts of it date back to – the oldest part as far as we can tell is an old stone monk’s bath in the garden. We’ve loved every minute of living here; from the start it both felt like home and like living in a National Trust property. We don’t think we’ll ever find somewhere quite so special to live again, but it’s time to move on!
