SUPPORT HERITAGE
Championing built history, the newly launched SPAB Heritage Awards are welcoming entrants from across the UK and Ireland. Three new award categories will join the organisation’s established Philip Webb and John Betjeman awards, and encompass: Best Loved Building – for buildings that have been kept in good repair, are well maintained, and loved by their community or owner; Sustainable Heritage – showcasing best practice in sympathetic repair of historic fabric, good new design in historic context, and the sensitive use of appropriate materials and techniques to upgrade or improve a building; and Building Craftsperson of the Year – recognising the best up-andcoming craftspeople working with traditional materials and old buildings. In November, the winners will receive their award from designer, writer and TV presenter Kevin Mccloud at an event at Conway Hall in London. The closing date for award entries is 28 March 2022; enter now at spab.org.uk.
