The best places to spot these cheery blooms this spring

STOURHEAD (pictured), on the Wiltshire/somerset border, features a beautiful landscaped garden set around a huge, tranquil lake. In spring the grounds are alive with colour. Take a stroll and bask in the daffodils’ golden glow. BLICKLING ESTATE in Norfolk is home to more than 100,000 daffodils, and the avenues of yellow blossom are a stunning sight. Enjoy a walk around 55 acres of gardens, taking in the famous Jacobean stately home. Visit in late spring and you will also see bluebells, wisteria and rhododendrons. COTEHELE MILL in Cornwall is one of the best places to spot this favourite spring bloom, and the Tudor house, set on the banks of the River Tamar, is famed for its annual daffodil festival. With guided daffodil walks you’ll find them flowering all over the estate, including varieties dating as far back as 1620.
