EAST MEETS WEST

-

The end of the 19th and early 20th century was a romantic period for English decoration that was influenced heavily by Eastern design. Water Garden by Sanderson is a new fabric and wallpaper collection that captures the beauty of this decadent era. Oriental water gardens were very fashionable and often landscaped into the grounds of country estates. To create the collection, Sanderson dug deep into its archives to discover previously untouched designs. ‘Whether drawn, printed or painted, we’re celebrating our archives’ authentic beauty and the Eastern cultures that came together to create something so special,’ says Rebecca Craig, head of design for Sanderson. The subtle metallics and vibrant colour combinations create a contemporary twist on these historic designs.
