Crown’s new Crafted range seeks to bring personality to the walls of your home

-

When it comes to decorating a period property, picking the right paint colours is far more nuanced than just testing out a couple of sample pots. Where there are original features and intricate details to contend with, both the colour and texture of your paint needs to complement the history and style of your home.

When searching for the right paint for the walls of an older home, formula is also key. Look for a waterbased emulsion with low odour and solvent levels, so that you know it will be safe for you and your family.

Founded in 1777, Crown is one of the nation’s oldest paint brands. Carrying over two centuries of experience as well as a Royal Warrant since 1949, the brand’s expertly crafted paint ranges combine creativity with a flawless finish. Renowned for its paint’s durability and wide range of shades, Crown’s latest collection, Crafted, continues to embody these signature qualities.

In the Crafted range, Crown looks back to its own roots in Lancashire, to create a colour palette that embodies materials used by the heritage craft industries that are ingrained in the area. Available in 62 richly pigmented colours, the range offers a shade for every room – from the creamy Collector’s White to the deep and moody Indulgence. The expertly formulated range carries

Crown’s signature formula, while also being in a palette befitting a period home.

The range centres around its Luxurious Flat Matt emulsion, which is designed to offer a truly matt finish with no surface shine. When applied to the walls it creates a beautiful, velvety texture.

Crafted also brings two new finishes to the table. The sophisticated Lustrous Metallic features an understated shimmer to create an accent and catch the eye. Available in eight shades, it is the perfect complement to both the Luxurious Flat Matt paint and Suede Textured finish. The sumptuous Suede Textured finish is an equally opulent paint that has been formulated with ground olive stones to create an irresistibly tactile surface.

With so many shades and textures to choose from, paint swatches are essential. Crown’s new

Real Paint Swatches feature handpainted card samples that can simply be stuck to the wall and moved to different positions to see how natural and artificial light influences the shade before you make your final decision. And what’s more, once you’ve chosen your favourite colour, you can simply pop the swatch in your handbag to take with you when shopping for soft furnishings and accessories. Crown’s Real Paint Swatches are recyclable and certified by the World Land Trust, helping to make your renovation project kinder to the planet.
