Florist Phillippa Craddock shares her tips on using greenery and flowers to style a sophisticated dinner party setting

● Start with a mass of greenery, filling large jugs and vases with long stems for high-impact, unfussy, elegant designs.

● Place flowers into smaller vases and also make use of interesting containers – they needn’t be solely vases.

● Bring a few stems from your flower beds onto the table – this will help you to blend the design with your garden, blurring the boundaries and creating the illusion of a larger display.

● Create your designs the day before and store them in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, until you are ready to display.
