Kristine’s Dynamic business pitch

- Staff Reporter

Perth businesswoman Kristine Moody enjoyed the chance to pitch to top entrepreneur Jo Malone at Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth after Team Magnus joined a select band of companies on the UK Virgin Tour.

The Pitch to Rich competition has given the Fair City business a UK profile as Kristine vies for the chance to promote the business to Richard Branson in London.

Kristine’s Team Magnus has been designing and selling outdoors gear for families since 2010.

Malone, founder of the global fragrance brand Jo Malone, had encouraging words.

“It’s really good that you know your customer base and that you have created such a sound structure for your business”, Malone told Moody.

“The fact that you’ve focused on logistics is really important. It sounds like a well thoughtthrough set-up. I wish you the best of luck.”

Team Magnus was one of three Scottish companies which Virgin picked to pitch on the UK Virgin Tour, all of them hoping to win part of the £1 million prize money Richard Branson has put up. They are competing against 1500-plus companies nationwide for cash and marketing support.

“Entrepreneurs should never worry about a plan B,” Malone advised. “Plan A always works. You will just have to change it on the way.”

If Team Magnus gets enough votes from the local community, Moody will go on to pitch in front of Branson live in London in June.
