MP’s visit marks care home revamp
Ochil and Perthshire South MP, Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh, joined residents, relatives and guests at a Perthshire care home recently.
The visit to HC-One’s the Birches Care Home in Crieff was timed to celebrate its fifth anniversary and formally unveil the home’s newly-refurbished facilities.
Residents and guests were treated to a festive afternoon tea, including an array of delicious treats provided by the home’s kitchen team.
An anniversary cake, made especially for the occasion, was cut by Ms Ahmed-Sheikh.
The SNP politician was given a tour of the home and the newly-refurbished facilities, which include three lounges, two dining rooms and an activities room.
The refurbishment is the result of HC-One’s £100m investment programme that began in February 2015, and saw its homes given a new lease of life.
Birches manager Lynne Rennie said:“We were delighted to welcome Tasmina to The Birches for our fifth anniversary celebration and for the opening of our new facilities.”
HC-One managing director Liz Whyte said:“It was great to be able to share our celebrations with Tasmina, and to unveil the newly-refurbished facilities.’’
