Spring dance in Blairgowrie

One of Scotland’s leading Highland Dance performance groups is hosting a ceilidh at Blairgowrie Town Hall on Saturday.
The Spring Fling gets under way at 7.30pm, with the last dance at 11.30pm.
And as well as the ceilidh, there will also be performances from hosts Flings and Things Highland Dancers and BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist and Red Hot Chilli Piper, Dougie McCance.
Music will be provided by the popular Grouse Ceilidh Band.
There will also be a raffle to raise funds for the Blairgowrie and Rattray Braemar Association.
Formed in 2014 by former world champion Highland dancer, Blairgowrie’s Rachel McLagan, Flings and Things has established itself as one of Scotland’s leading Highland Dance performance groups.
In recent years they have produced performances for several prestigious events, including at the Scottish Parliament, the New York Military Tattoo, Gleneagles’Military Tattoo, the Commonwealth Games Federation Queen’s baton launch and the Scottish Olympic opening ceremony celebrations.
The group is the exclusive provider of dancers for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and members have accompanied the band on multiple European and US tours.
They have performed everywhere from the main stage at T in the Park and RBS 6 Nations at Murrayfield, to the BBC Commonwealth Games opening ceremony party and in Monte Carlo.
The girls accompanied Muse onstage at the last night of the UK leg of their ‘Drones’world tour, and filmed segments for NBC America’s TODAY show in advance of their trip to New York to perform in Tartan Week elebrations.
