Newburgh

Whinnybank Cat Sanctuary An elderly female grey and white cat wandered into the sanctuary’s Newburgh shop on Saturday of last week. She was obviously ‘not right’ and Linda asked passers-by if they knew who she belonged to but to no avail. Linda would like to thank Mandy for the loan of a cat carrier which enabled Sue to collect the moggie. She had been seen around the bottom end of Newburgh and Sue wondered if, perhaps, an elderly person is now missing her. Laura, previously of Twist Fibre Craft, has kindly given the cat a temporary home as she would not have been happy at the sanctuary with many other cats around. Unfortunately, there is a sad ending to this tale if the grey cat Sue recently neutered and returned to Buckhaven. He became very ill on the Friday and was rushed to Wilson’s Vets in Cupar, where he was sadly put to sleep. It appears that he may have been poisoned. Apparently, a number of cats in that area have been reported as being poisoned lately. Sue would like to thank the Age Concern charity for their kind donation of books and bric-a-brac. Anyone who is able to offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in the shops or at the sanctuary, should contact Sue on 01337 840414, or online at www. catchat.org/adoption/fife.html or www.whinnybank.org.uk.
