Art’s the way to do it
Appeal for paintings to adorn Knock Castle
Plans are afoot to create a mini art gallery at Crieff’s Knock Castle Hotel and Spa.
And it’s hoped to attract budding Scottish artists to showcase their work as part of the creative development.
Jason Henderson wants to hear from artists looking to show off their work
The luxury Strathearn hotel is visited by a wide and varied clientele from all over the world, with owner Jason Henderson confident his premises is the“perfect setting”to display various wares.
The local businessman explained: “The idea for all this started when I hung a painting of the hotel’s dog on the main staircase wall.
“I love my dog, Baillie, and he’s a real charmer to all the guests but I knew I needed something special on that wall.
“I had a real lightbulb moment as I pondered the idea of showcasing local and regional artists’paintings.
“I’m a real supporter of independent artists and craftsmen and by creating a gallery within the hotel solved the problem of what to hang on the walls yet support the Scottish art world, too.”
Jason added:“I also think there are plenty of fine artists out there who perhaps are not being given the chance to show off their work and this is a great opportunity to have their paintings on display in a busy, yet elegant, and traditional setting.”
Jason is appealing to artists from all over the country to get in touch with a view to displaying their work to the hotel’s guests.
In addition to appreciating the pictures, some of the work will be available to purchase.
Artists should apply via email to gallery@knockcastle.com
