Perth Sailing Club’s Dewars Series was continued this week and was contested in a steady north westerly wind.

The two Streakers of Peter Bevan and Jack Douglas led the fleet during the first round, closely followed by the Firefly of Bill Inches with Vicky Wright to the rear in her Europe.

When the end of the fourth and final round was completed, the positions remained the same.

During the race the club had a visit of around 20 kayakers, who had paddled up to Perth from Wormit.

Five boats then took to the water for the second race of the afternoon with Euan Macdonald’s RS Aero joining the fleet and taking the lead to the first mark.

But Bevan was the sailor who pushed to the front to take the win with Douglas second and Macdonald claiming third.

On the Sunday, which was fair and cold with an east/south easterly force 3-4 wind, five boats again splashed into the River Tay.

Keeping up his good form was Bevan who netted the win, while Macdonald bumped up to second and John Ferguson navigated to third.

The final race of the day witnessed the course shortened to three rounds and Ferguson stormed home to cross the line in top spot. Positions after handicap:
