Assaultaccused isadmonished

-

A Perth woman attacked her husband of two months because she suspected he was cheating on her.

Just a fortnight after they split up, 25-year-old Kayren Dalton went to Darren Harvey’s work in Scone.

They argued and she “threw two or three punches at him,” Perth Sheriff Court was told.

She also tried to kick him as the fall-out continued before she walked off.

Dalton, of Wallace Place, admitted the assault which took place in Perth Road, Scone, on September 13.

She was subject at the time to an undertaking to appear at the Perth court on September 27.

A not guilty plea was accepted to a further charge of assaulting her husband in their home on August 28 by punching him on the face and pushing him.

The prosecution also accepted her not guilty plea to shouting and acting in an aggressive manner.

Depute fiscal Robbie Brown told the court that they had been in a relationship for about two years but had been married only two months.

“The relationship ended about two weeks before the incident.

“There had been various items of dispute between them.”

Solicitor Paul Ralph said the pair were no longer together and there was “no intention” to have any further contact.

She had discovered there was a “third party” which led to the breakup.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis had initially deferred sentence on Dalton for six months and ordered her to stay out of further trouble.

“Emotions may have been running high at this particular point - for a number of reasons,” he told her.

“But you certainly can’t resort to violence, no matter how provoked you might be.

“I stress might have been - I am not saying you were.”

Appearing in the dock on Wednesday, Sheriff Foulis said he had indictated previously that if she was of good behaviour, he would admonish her.

“I will keep to that,” he added - and Dalton walked free from the court.
