Get in fine voice and sing for Southern Fried choir

-

Perth’s Southern Fried Festival is looking for local singers to form the Southern Fried Voices choirs and perform at this year’s special 10th anniversary event.

Those that take up the opportunity – there is no audition to join – will be singing in Perth Concert Hall alongside professional artists including Cyndi Cain, Stuart Nisbet and The First Ladies of Country.

Southern Fried Voices will lead the Saturday Morning Coming Down show in Perth Concert Hall on Saturday, July 29.

Rehearsals start on June 21, running over six weeks leading to the big performance.

Debra Salem will work with the choir to create a set of songs from across the American Roots genre, from bluegrass to gospel and from country to blues.

Debra urged anyone interested in joining the choir to get in touch and said: “Perth and Kinross has a great many wonderful choirs and vocal ensembles, many of which stop over the summer.

“For all those people missing their singing and looking for something to do, Southern Fried Voices is the answer.”

As well as Southern Fried Voices, there is Junior Southern Fried Voices for young people over 10.
