- Iain Howie

Bishop David Chillingworth visited St Ninian’s Episcopal Primary School in Perth yesterday Roadworks to improve a bridge over the M90 around Perth are expected to reduce noise impact.

Engineers moved in on Monday evening at Necessity Brae to repair bridge deck joints on the structure.

Motorists are being warned that lane closures will be put in place on both sides of the carriageway as “essential” maintenance progresses over the five nights.

A temporary speed limit will also be in force.

Roads teams will be working on the structure between 7.30pm and 5am and there will be no works or traffic management through the daytime.

Andy Thompson of BEAR Scotland said: “These works will allow us to ensure that the trunk road network remains at the highest standard, and the repairs are essential to ensure the bridge at Necessity Brae near Broxden remains in safe condition for road users.

“The lane closures will protect our teams while the bridge maintenance is completed, and we’ve taken steps to keep disruption to a minimum by scheduling the repairs to take place overnight.

“Every effort will be made to reduce any impact to road users during this scheme, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.”
