An appealing position for the green-fingered and well organised has come up on a Perthshire estate, as Blair Castle puts out a call for its next head gardener.
The Atholl Estate is looking for someone with experience in large-scale horticulture and working with RHS gardens, with excellent team working and management skills, topped with excellent customer service skills.
The successful candidate will work closely with the head trustee and general manager.
Blair Castle and gardens sit in incredible countryside near Pitlochry.
The Perthshire visitor attraction which annually sees 140,000 people through the gates has been five star graded by VisitScotland. The castle and the gardens are a popular venue for weddings and private functions.
The head gardener has responsibility for the maintenance and development of the Royal Horticultural Society partner garden and grounds at Blair Castle including Hercules Garden, Diana’s Grove and Blair Castle Caravan Park.
The role is for a working gardener managing, coordinating and coaching a team of three full-time and one part-time gardeners.
A gardener’s house comes with the position, and salary details will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.
