Ga for Gary

- Rachel Clark

Tickets for Gary Barlow’s Perth gig sold out within hours after die-hard fans queued up from 4.30am.

The tickets for the Take That star’s Perth gig went on sale at 10am on Friday, with those at the front of the queue at Perth Concert Hall coming out early in the morning to make sure they got their hands on the prized briefs.

First in line was super-fan Caroline Smith, who came armed with a cardboard cut-out of the pop star and wearing a t-shirt depicting her marrying the singer/songwriter.

She said: “I am very, very excited. We never thought this would happen. It is a blessing. I’ve obviously been good in a past life.

“Getting here at 4.30am is definitely worth it.”

The pop sensation announced he will be stopping off in the Fair City as part of his 2018 UK tour last week, and will play the concert hall on Thursday, April 19.

The former X Factor judge says he is looking forward to playing some new venues and said it was an opportunity to play more intimate gigs.

Following the concert’s announcement, he said: “I had such a lot of fun back in 2013 when I played those smaller venues because you’re so much closer to the fans.

“The audience always seem to love the intimacy of it all too. I’m really looking forward to playing a couple of cities I’ve never played before as well as getting a chance to meet the fans there.”

The tickets for the Perth gig had started at £38, with the most expensive tickets for VIP passes coming in at £168. The VIP passes included seats in the front-raised stalls - described by Horsecross as the best available seating - a pre-signed tour programme, a Gary Barlow VIP tote bag, commemorative VIP laiminate and custom lanyard, and an exclusive Gary Barlow VIP tour gift.
