Blackford distillery launches single malt
Tullibardine Distillery Blackford-based Tullibardine distillery has released the second expression in the brand’s Marquess Collection, The Murray (2005).
Bottled at cask strength this year, the single malt whisky has been non-chill filtered and boasts a profile shaped by the mineral-rich water from the Ochil Hills.
The Marquess Collection has already established its reputation as offering some of the world’s best single malts following numerous international accolades for quality and flavour this year.
The collection’s first release, The Murray (2004), has to date been awarded a gold medal for Cask Strength Whisky and Top of the Category at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters, silver in the International Wine & Spirits Competition and the International Spirits Challenge, and has received 95 points in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
Distillery manager John Torrance said:“As a result of the popularity of the first release in the collection we have already received a lot of interest in The Murray (2005).
“We hope that customers enjoy tasting this delicious new addition to the growing range of single malts produced here in Perthshire.”
Keith Geddes, master blender at the Tullibardine Distillery added:“As the first whisky to be released since taking on the role as Master Blender, it’s fantastic to be able to create such an exquisite single malt.”
