Hannah Wilson is keen to salvage wedding plans wrecked by the Lovat Hotel closure Perth businesses are throwing a lifeline to victims of the shock Lovat Hotel closure.

The troubled three-star hotel closed its doors without warning last week, leaving clients high and dry.

Carefully prepared wedding plans have been thrown into chaos and dozens of other events booked into the well-known Glasgow Road hotel have had to be cancelled.

Hannah Wilson, the recently appointed promotions manager for RocaBlu and The Loft, was shocked to learn that the Lovat had closed its doors.

And she’s eager to come to the aid of anxious brides and event organisers by offering them an alternative venue.

The former Northumbria University communications student said: “Myself and operations director Craig Fraser are Perth born and bred and the Lovat has always been something of an institution.

“It came as a shock to read that it had closed and it must be heartbreaking for anyone whose wedding plans, in particular, have been thrown into chaos. It will be so distressing and stressful for brides-to-be and their families.

“As a local business we wondered if there was any way we could lend a helping hand as, sadly, it doesn’t look as if the hotel will be re-opening any time soon.

“So we have agreed to offer both RocaBlu and The Loft as alterative locations free of charge for functions which have fallen victim to the closure of the Lovat.

“RocaBlu, which can accommodate up to 200, is being re-launched shortly and has already hosted a couple of weddings while The Loft has held everything from concerts to Burns Suppers. It is very flexible.”
