Continued. Abbey Church The deadline for articles for the next issue of the Isla Link is this Sunday. Organisers would like to thank all who help set up for the groups on Monday mornings and for church on Thursday nights. If you are able to give half an hour on Monday mornings or Thursday evenings, speak to Donna Hindmarch or Irene Henderson respective­ly. EPACTS is a group made up of members of local churches who organise events to bring the community together. Helen Pithie has served as the Abbey Church member on its committee for many years, but is now retiring. If anyone is interested in taking on this important position, please speak to Helen. The Sunday service at the Abbey Church is from 11.15am to 12.15pm. All welcome. Heritage Associatio­n The associatio­n meets on the first Friday of each month, at 7.30pm, in the St Anne’s Church hall on Forfar Road. The next meeting is tonight (Friday) when the speaker will be Angus Gellatly who will talke on family history, secrets and untruths. Thursday Friends The Thursday Friends meet on the second Thursday of each month, at 2pm in the town hall. The next party will be on February 8. All welcome.

Dunning

Church The Rev James Aitchison will conduct the service on Sunday morning at 11am. The next messy church will meet at 4.30pm in the church hall.

Errol

Church Morning worship and children’s club will be held in Errol Church this Sunday, February 4, at 11am. This will be followed by the next messy church event in the village hall at 3pm to 4.30pm. Fun Church Activities for primary five, six and seven pupils will be held in the Ochil Room of the church on Tuesday, February 6, from 6.30pm to 8pm. Revive Cafe The next cafe will take place in the village hall on Wednesday, February 7, from 1pm to 2.30pm, with choir practise at 7.30pm. Guild The next meeting of the guild will be in the church on Thursday, February 8, at 2pm, with guest speaker Ivy Blair, who will talk on one of the Guild projects. All welcome. Kirk Session The Kirk Session will next meet in the Ochil Room at 7pm on that date. Soup Lunch A Christian Aid soup lunch will take place after the morning service on Sunday, February 11; tickets cost £5.

Forteviot

Church There will be a communion service at Forteviot Church on February 4, at 9.30am.

Kinclaven

Church A joint service for Caputh and Clunie linked with Kinclaven Church was held in Caputh Church last Sunday. The service was led by Rosemary Patterson who has been a reader in training with the parishes for six months. As this was Rosemary’s last week of training, Rev Peggy EwartRober­ts thanked her for the work she had done and told her how much the churches had enjoyed having her with them. Rosemary was presented with a gift by Ian Rae and flowers by Margaret Blackhall, on behalf of the congregati­ons. Rosemary chose Bible readings from Deuteronom­y chapter 18, verses 14-22, which were read by Sandra Service. This Sunday the service will be held in Kinclaven Church at the usual time of 9.45am. All welcome.

Kinross

Church Orwell and Portmoak’s joint all ages service will be at 10.30am this Sunday, in Portmoak Church. All are welcome to come along and join in.

Kirkmichae­l

Session House The Session House is once again acting as a collection point for the Mothers’ Union personal packets initiative, which provides essentials to ladies taken into prison straight from court wearing only what they stand up in. Donations of packets of new underpants of any size can be dropped off in the collection box in the Session House throughout this month.

Luncarty

Church The service this Sunday will be held in Luncarty Church Centre, at 10am, and will be led by the Rev Adrian Lough. Coffee Morning The Serendipty group are holding a coffee morning at the church this Saturday, February 3, from 10am to 11.30am. There will also be a baking stall on offer. All welcome. Newburgh

Bonus Ball The winner of last week’s TICC bonus ball was Helen Doris on number 16. Bingo Tea The TICC fundraisin­g committee are holding a bingo tea on Friday, February 23, for eyes down at 7pm. All welcome. AM Soccer The AM Soccer 06 team wish to thank all who supported their recent coffee morning which raised £917 for club funds. Thursday Club The members wish to thank Elisabeth for her musical trip round the Western Isles, and to Christine who accompanie­d the solos provided by Winnie and Joan. The TICC staff prepared and served the recent Burns supper, which included Elisabeth’s delicious clootie dumpling and Avril’s shortbread. Thanks were extended to all for a great afternoon. All are welcome to join in at next week’s event which will see the entertainm­ent being provided by Tom Simpson. Muchty Monkeys The annual coffee morning will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am in the TICC. All welcome. Whinnybank Cat Sanctuary Sue, despite having a short break, has sadly had to have three very frail feral cats put to sleep as a result of the harsh winter. Many of the feral cats at Whinnybank came originally came to the sanctuary when Sue began working with the feral colony at Pitlochry approximat­ely 15 years ago, and are now in their twenties. Last week an unwanted six monthold ginger and white male cat came in and she received 12 calls for him as soon as he was put on the website. He has now gone to a lovely country home near Aberdeen, along with a black and white female who was not claimed after being found in Cupar. She would like to thank everyone for their kind donations of lots of lovely food and bric-a-brac which have been handed in over the past two weeks. Abdie SWI Ruralympic­s capers was the activity at the January meeting with mini golf, balloon tennis, tangams and arithmigon­s. It was great fun and fiercely competitiv­e, with the brain exercises proving far more taxing than the physical. Their next meeting will be on Thursday, February 8, at 7.15pm, in Newburgh Parish Church hall. The group are having a crafty night - bring along an unfinished or not yet started craft project.
