Screen memories to air in Highland Perthshire

-

Saints in the Community are introducing Screen Memories in Highland Perthshire.

At the heart of the programme will be weekly sessions where trained volunteers work with small groups and individuals, using film stills, portraits of movie stars and film clips on a laptop to stimulate discussion and recollections from years gone by.

We have set a date for interested volunteers to come along and find out about this project by taking part in a short session on Tuesday, February 13 at 11am in the Birks Cinema.

This will be followed by a two-hour training session on a later date which will also involve some dementia training. Anyone interested in becoming involved in this fantastic project is invited to come along to the session with a view to becoming a project volunteer.

When a team of volunteers are in place, the project will be set up in blocks of eight to 10 weeks, with sessions of 1.5 hours per week.

The sessions will include refreshments and a film selected by the participants.

CLUB COACHING PACKAGES

ANDY’S MAN CLUB

Every Monday at 7pm in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park. Saints in the Community became the first football club in Scotland to host Andy’s Man Club in September last year.

Founded by former Rugby League International Luke Ambler, following the suicide of his brother-in-law Andrew Roberts in 2016, the club is for“any man who is going through a storm, been through a storm or just wants to come along and meet a good group of people with the aim of improving one another.”

SAINTS TEASER

Last week: Saints in the Community named Tam Scobbie as man of the match when we beat Partick Thistle 1–0 in May 2017.

This week: Away at Tynecastle this weekend. When Saints legend Willie Ormond was sacked by Hearts in 1980, which former Saints player took over as caretaker manager?
