Warrants after courtno shows
Warrants were issued for the arrest of two men when they failed to appear separately on indictments at Perth Sheriff Court this week on knife charges.
Twenty-nine-year-old Dayne Cairns, of Campsie Road, is charged with having a lock knife in his possession in the city’s St Catherine’s Square on September 17, 2017.
His lawyer said she had “no explanation” for him failing to attend court.
Mark Smith (34), of Stagsden Orton, Goldhay, Peterborough, was also a no show in connection with a charge of being in possession of two blades.
That incident is alleged to have taken place on a train journey between Edinburgh and Perth railway stations on September 13 last year.
A second charge alleges that he had the Class A drug heroin in his possession at Perth station.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said he had checked if the accused had been remanded anywhere or serving a custodial sentence but that proved negative.
