Emergency road works
St John’s Place in Perth city centre was shut off yesterday morning to make way for emergency repair works.
The road between the iconic St John’s Kirk and the Kirkgate was shut off to pedestrians at short notice, as the roads team at Perth and Kinross Council needed to repair some loose and uneven slabs on the road.
Workmen could be seen spending the morning uplifting the loose slabs and making sure the ground was secure and even for pedestrians walking past the city centre kirk.
The PA’s photographer captured the roadworks at the kirkside yesterday morning.
