Bankcustomer abusedstaff

Perthshire Advertiser - - FRONT PAGE -

A Perth bank customer was unhappy with the response he received to questions relating to transactions on his account.

And he began to shout at staff, telling one assistant:“You think you’re the big man.”

Thirty-three-year-old David Bacon, of Lumsden Crescent, Almondbank, was asked to leave and complied.

But the police were contacted and he was later traced.

His bank balance was left £150 lighter when he was fined that amount at Perth Sheriff Court.

He admitted shouting at staff in the High Street branch of Barclay’s Bank on January 16.

A not guilty plea was accepted to a second charge of assaulting Jamie Vincent by seizing hold of his arm.

Depute fiscal Carol Whyte said the incident took place about 2pm.

Solicitor Billy Somerville conceded that his client did have a criminal record but he had stayed out of trouble for a considerable period.

The penalty will be paid at £15 a fortnight.
