A Perthshire man faces trial on May 1, ac­cused of at­tack­ing an­other pa­tron in a Perth night­club and scar­ring him for life.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nicholas Camp­bell, now of High Street, Auchter­arder, main­tained his not guilty plea to the charge at his lat­est hear­ing at Perth Sher­iff Court.

Pre­vi­ously of South Methven Street, Perth, he de­nied that on Au­gust 12, 2016, at The Loft, South Street, he as­saulted Samuel Brown by push­ing him on the body and re­peat­edly punch­ing him on the head, to his in­jury and per­ma­nent dis­fig­ure­ment.

A sec­ond charge al­leges that he failed, with­out rea­son­able ex­cuse, to turn up at the Perth court on Septem­ber 13 af­ter be­ing made sub­ject to a po­lice un­der­tak­ing to ap­pear.

Camp­bell had his bail con­tin­ued mean­time.
