A Perthshire community council has objected to plans for a pub to remove its bouncer on Friday and Saturday nights.

Auchterarder and District Community Council has concerns about The Niblick’s plans to scrap the weekend position, which is set to be discussed at Thursday’s licencing board meeting.

The Lang Toon watering hole has requested to alter two of its existing licences - one being the hours it can serve breakfasts and the other being to remove its qualified supervisor on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as special occasions.

CC chair Malcolm Best said:“There are two changes which the Niblick have applied for. The first is to serve breakfasts outside of it’s normal hours, which is perfectly fine.

“However, they are wishing to remove an existing condition which would remove the security staff member from the door between 9pm until around 20 minutes after closing time.

“We feel that this is not something which would be beneficial, so we have objected to it.”

The PA contacted Greene King, the company which runs the pub, however they did not reply before yesterday’s print deadline.
