Technical hitch hits city car charging points
Perth and Kinross Council has confirmed that a number of their city centre electric car charging ports in Perth are out of order.
The local authority has admitted the West Mill Street spaces are currently non-operational, however the charging spaces will be back in working condition “as soon as possible”.
A Perth and Kinross Council spokesperson said: “The electric car charging spaces at West Mill Street car park are not currently operational, due to some technical issues.
“We have been in touch with the specialist contractor involved who has undertaken a site visit last week. We are currently awaiting the report from the contractor and aim to have the spaces operational as soon as possible.”
The council has encouraged drivers of electric cars to use the other charging ports in the city centre.
There are four at Canal Street’s multi-storey car park and four at the South Inch car park which are in working order, as well as ports at the Friarton depot and Broxden park and ride.
