Time for an Auchterarder ‘town centre’

-

The Auchterarder Bloom Association have worked tirelessly over the last six-seven years to bring colour throughout the town by planting up containers and hanging baskets.

However, our beautiful town is still missing something and our chairman Judy Pirie decided that the corner next to Lloyds Pharmacy could be turned into a town centre area.

Over the last 18 months we have been working with Perth and Kinross Council and Take a Pride in Perthshire to see if we could re-landscape the area, so that it becomes a focal centre for the town. We have plans drawn up to alter the layout so that there will be a seating area for the young and old when the sun shines.

There will be a beautiful wall, sustainable planting and up lights and a pathway. It will be known as Garrie’s Corner after Mr Garrie, who was a past Provost and prominent local business man, whose business was at this corner.

To achieve these ambitions, we require letters of support to allow us to raise funds from various community resources. Therefore, we ask that you assist Auchterarder Bloom Association’s fundraising efforts by writing a letter of support for our project. The more letters we receive, the more likely we are to achieve beautiful surrounding for the town of Auchterarder.
