George loved his loan spell

-

George Williams has loved his St Johnstone loan spell and would consider a return. But he admits his main concern over the next month is to spend time with his new son Carter.

Williams, whose Fulham contract expires in the summer, said:“For the next month I am going to go home and focus on being a dad. Then I will get my football head back on.

“I’ve said from the start that I have loved every minute here.

“I get on really well with the boys and it has been a great experience for me.

“If the option is there then it is something I would definitely consider, talk to my family about.

“I have played a lot of minutes and that is what I needed. I needed to come and play. That has been achieved.

“There is a lot of backroom staff who do so much for you. I have made a lot of friends.

“Walking out with my baby boy on Saturday is something I will always remember.

“Whatever happens I will always remember this as somewhere really special because my boy was born up here.”

The weekend draw with relegated Ross County was a tough one to play in, Williams admits. But there was a satisfaction in avoiding a last day defeat at McDiarmid Park.

“It was a scrappy game and pretty horrible to play in,” Williams explained to the Perthshire Advertiser.

“We always knew they would throw everything at us because they had to.

“They got their early goal but from our point of view it was an awful one to give away.

“We never really got going but we hung in there and got the goal in the end.

“We didn’t want to finish with a loss. We are undefeated in three now so it’s a nice little run at the end of the season.” Printed by Reach Printing Services Ltd, Cardonald Park, G51 4EA , and published by the Perthshire Advertiser, 58 Watergate, Perth, PH1 5TF (01738 626211).
