Womancalled neighbour a“grass”
A woman called her neighbour“a grass” during an ongoing dispute, Perth Sheriff Court was told.
But events took a“more sinister turn” when 24-year-old Erin Mangan threatened the other woman, telling her: “Snitches get stitches.”
Auchterarder woman Fiona Esslement, however, had recorded the exchanges on her mobile phone.
The incident led to Mangan, of Benton Road, Auchterarder, being fined £450 when she appeared for sentence this week.
She admitted that on May 2 this year, at Benton Road, she shouted at the other female and then threatened her with violence.
Depute fiscal Robbie Brown said there had been a neighbourhood dispute and Ms Esslemont had left her house about 6.15pm.
Due to“previous problems,”she had taken her phone with her.
“She heard the accused shouting at her, trying to attract her attention,”explained the fiscal.
Initially Mangan called her“a grass”but then made the threat:“Snitches get stitches.”
The comments had been recorded and the police were contacted.
Solicitor Pauline Cullerton said her client had moved to Auchterarder in 2015 but there had been“difficulties”with the complainer.
Before Mangan had moved into her house, there had been attempts to start a petition to stop her living there.
“She’s now seriously considering looking for a move out of Auchterarder and, if not successful, she would move back to live with her mother,”stated the lawyer“She fully accepts she shouldn’t have said what she did to her neighbour.”
Mangan will pay the fine at the rate of £30 a fortnight.
