Kinross fundraiser coming up

-

Registrations are now open for the biggest Walk for Parkinson’s happening in the east of Scotland, this year taking place at Loch Leven near Kinross in a little over two months time.

Those who want to take part in the fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK can choose from a gentle two-mile walk towards the loch or take a six-mile loch-side route instead. One person who’s bringing her family along for the day is teacher Janet Kerr, who has been living with the condition for two years after being diagnosed at the age of 47.

“Parkinson’s UK has been a fantastic support to me and my family since I was diagnosed and we love getting involved at events as a way of recognising that support and saying thank you,”she said.

“As well as walking for such a great cause there’s a real feel-good atmosphere at all the charity’s events and I’d urge as many people as possible to sign up and come and join us on the day.”

Regional fundraiser Emma Hall added:“Walk for Parkinson’s Loch Leven is going from strength to strength and this year is set to be our biggest and best ever.

“As well as the walk there will be catering and fun and games for all the family.

“Parkinson’s UK is delighted that people like Janet and her family are supporting us and we’d love to see walkers from all over Scotland come and join us.”

Walk for Parkinson’s Loch Leven is happening on Sunday, August 26.
