Res­i­dents in Perth and Kin­ross look­ing for a pint this week­end may have fur­ther to travel than most in Scot­land.

The area has the fifth high­est ra­tio of res­i­dents to pubs, bars of clubs in the whole of Scot­land.

Ac­cord­ing to fig­ures re­leased this week, there is one pub or club for ev­ery 2798 peo­ple across the area.

The fig­ure is higher only in West Loth­ian, the High­land, Aberdeen­shire and East Ren­frew­shire, where the fig­ure is a whop­ping 8615.

In con­trast, if you are vis­it­ing the Bor­ders you won’t have far to travel with 714 peo­ple per boozer.

Both Perth and Kin­ross’Tay­side neigh­bours fea­ture in the top five, with Dundee record­ing 763 peo­ple per pub or club, and Angus 819.

Across the UK the Der­byshire Dales recorded the high­est con­cen­tra­tion, with one pub or club per 418.

The low­est con­cen­tra­tion was in Lis­burn in North­ern Ire­land, with 9509 peo­ple per pub or club.
