Church The ser­vice in the church on Sun­day will be held at 9.30am and will be led on this oc­ca­sion by Rev­erend James W Aitchi­son. All wel­come.


Church The ser­vice this Sun­day, July 15, at 11am will be con­ducted by the Rev­erend James Aitchi­son. All wel­come.


St Serf’s Church The ser­vice last Sun­day was con­ducted by Mr Michael Archibald and his ser­mon was based on the past, the present and the fu­ture. Ali­son Hooper was the or­gan­ist and she also read the lessons. The flow­ers were kindly do­nated by Mar­garet and Mary Jamieson. Parish­ioners are re­minded that the an­nual sum­mer fayre will be held on Satur­day, Au­gust 11, in the church grounds, fol­lowed by the duck race. There are still plenty of ducks for sale for this event. The ser­vice this Sun­day will be con­ducted by Mr Archibald and will be made most wel­come.


Church Morn­ing wor­ship last Sun­day took place at 11am and was con­ducted by Rev Mike Ersk­ine. The kirk shop took place dur­ing that week and closed on the Satur­day. Once again, it was very suc­cess­ful and £11,823 was raised for church funds. The wor­ship ser­vice this Sun­day, July 15, will be at 11am. Re­fresh­ments will be served af­ter the ser­vice. The Sun­day school is now closed dur­ing the sum­mer hol­i­days. All events and ser­vices are open to ev­ery­one. Fam­ily his­tory pro­ject Alyth fam­ily his­tory pro­ject is open on Sun­day af­ter­noons, from 2pm to 4pm in Alyth Par­ish Church. The pro­ject in­cludes thou­sands of pho­to­graphs of peo­ple, events, schools, busi­nesses, wed­dings, chil­dren and views, etc. Ad­mis­sion is free. Bowl­ing Club Num­bers in this week’s lotto draw were 3, 15, 18 and 20. There were no win­ners; prize money next week will now amount to £1050.


Church The ser­vice on Sun­day, July 15, will be con­ducted by the Rev Adrian Lough at the usual time of 11.15am. All wel­come. Church Cen­tre Café and Soft­play The café will be open ev­ery week day morn­ing as usual for the next three weeks. All are wel­come to come and en­joy a snack or bring their chil­dren along to the soft­play area. Both the cafe and soft play ar­eas will be on hol­i­day for two weeks com­menc­ing July 23. Af­ter­noon teas The next sum­mer af­ter­noon teas event will take place in Bank­foot Church Cen­tre on Satur­day, July 21, from 2pm to 4pm. Af­ter­noon tea will be served with en­ter­tain­ment pro­vided by Ru­ral Blend. Tick­ets cost £8 and these are on sale at the café. Sum­mer hol­i­day messy church The sum­mer hol­i­day messy church event will take place in Bank­foot Church Cen­tre on Sun­day, Au­gust 5, from 3pm to 5pm. This will in­clude a fam­ily tea at 5pm. En­try is free and do­na­tions would be wel­comed. Bar­be­cue A bar­be­cue evening for all will take place at the Ac­tive Kids ad­ven­ture park on Fri­day, Au­gust 10, from 6pm for both the messy church mem­bers and the Sun­day morn­ing con­gre­ga­tions. Messy church The next messy church will be held in Lun­carty Church Cen­tre on Sun­day, Au­gust 12, be­tween 3pm and 5pm. This will be fol­lowed by a fam­ily tea at 5pm. En­try is free, but do­na­tions would be wel­comed.

Church Last Sun­day’s ser­vice was con­ducted by Rev Andy Gra­ham and the read­ings were given by J Mori­son from Two Corinthi­ans chap­ter 12, verses 2-10 and Mark chap­ter six, verses 1-13. Hall com­mit­tee The an­nual bar­be­cue and roasts night will be held on Satur­day, Au­gust 4, at the Black­wa­ter Hall from 7.30pm. There will be a li­censed bar and raf­fle pro­vided at the event. Old tyme dance The next dance will be tonight (Fri­day, July 13) in the In­sti­tute from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Mu­sic for the evening will be pro­vided by Gavin Piper. Tick­ets cost £5 (in­cludes tea and bis­cuits) avail­able at the door on the night. Pro­ceeds will go to char­ity.
