Ex-police stations up for sale

-

Two former Perthshire police stations have gone on the market.

The Scottish Police Authority has put 30 disused properties on the market, including the abandoned Letham and Bridge of Earn stations.

This comes after a public consultation was carried out and found these stations, which have been empty for some time, should be sold.

Subject to approval by Perth and Kinross Council, the two properties will be sold by Shepherd Chartered Surveyors.

Yvonne Johnstone, estates transformation lead for Police Scotland, said:“In Shepherd Chartered Surveyors we have selected an experience strategic partner to work with us in delivering this key strand of our estates strategy.

“We very much look forward to working with Shepherd on this initiative.”

Sandy Rennie, who is partner in the Inverness office of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, will be coordinating the commission.

He said:“We are delighted to have secured this prestigious commission and very much look forward to working alongside the Scottish Police Authority and Police Scotland to help achieve their strategic estate aspirations.

“We believe our extensive network of offices, together with our unrivalled local coverage and knowledge, make us ideally placed to deliver what we anticipate will be a successful property sales programme.

“As part of the commission, Shepherd will review and inspect all the buildings, provide a market assessment, formalise a disposal strategy, provide planning advice, market the properties, negotiate any sale and provide general guidance and advice throughout the entire process.”

The former Letham and Bridge of Earn police stations will now go up for sale.
