Committee members needed

-

A popular community hall may be under threat of closure if new committee members cannot be found.

The team behind The Institute in Bridge of Earn are currently on the hunt for new members.

However they add if they are unable to find new members, the Institute may need to shut down.

A number of classes, groups and children’s activities are held regularly in the Institute on the village’s Station Road.

A spokesperson for the Institute said: “On behalf of the Institute committee I am, once again, putting out a plea for members of the community to join the committee in the capacity of treasurer.

“Sadly if we are unable to fill this position the Institute itself will be in danger of closing its doors.

“At present almost 10 committed local villagers belong to the committee and, along with a small team of invaluable staff, try their best to keep the building running effectively and efficiently for everyone in the village.

“From an excellent nursery, guiding groups, motivating health and fitness classes, creative art classes, children’s sports sessions to regular one off parties, flower shows, autojumbles, bottle stalls and other events the Institute remains an invaluable part of our community.

“The Institute is used by hundreds of people each week.

“Please can you consider giving up a couple of hours of your time each month to be part of the team known as the Institute committee - your village needs you.”

The committee can be contacted on their Facebook page‘Bridge of Earn Institute’.
