Chloe wins three in a row
Perth karter Chloe Grant goes into this weekend’s penultimate round of the East of Scotland Kart Club Championship on a high.
The 12-year-old Perth High School pupil has clocked up a run of three consecutive victories.
She won the last round of the club championship at the ESKC, as well as the July and August races at Cults Kart Club in Stranraer.
Sitting just six points off the ESKC championship lead, Chloe’s aim is to overtake championship leader Spencer Howes of Dunfermline.
Chloe is the reigning champion in the Rotax Mini Max class for the 11-15 age group.
She said:“It would be a great achievement if I can defend the title before making the step up to the Junior Rotax class in 2019 for age 13-16 karters.”
Chloe and her older sister Lucy are both racing role models for Susie Wolff ’s Dare to be Different initiative and have helped out at events for schools to promote women in motorsport over the last three years.
Chloe has also given talks on her racing and D2BD at her primary school assembly and to Perth Rotary Club. The sisters are members of the British Women’s Racing Drivers Club.
Chloe is in action on Sunday from 10am at the East of Scotland Kart Club in Crail. It is free to spectate.
Anyone interested in sampling kart racing can get more information on the ESKC website.
