Range of activities at Kinnoull Church

Kinnoull Church Halls on Dundee Road, Perth is offering a range of new indoor sports and recreation­al activities starting from Monday, aimed at kick starting everyone into a more active new year.

The initiative, beginning on January 7, could be just what people are looking for post-Christmas indulgence.

As well as a number of indoor sports, there is also a selection of more sedate, but interestin­g, activities to participat­e in.

Badminton is on Thursdays, 10am to noon, contact Ian Brown, 01738 551947. Baking for beginners is on Tuesdays, 10am to noon, contact Elizabeth Drysdale, 0797411495­2. Book Club, held in the upper hall, will run on Thursdays, 7pm-9pm, call Tim Fletcher, 01738 638189.

Carpet bowls, indoor putting and indoor‘kurling’is on Mondays, 10am to noon, contact Hugh Brown, 01738 451563.

There’s coffee and cake for all plus Messy Play for parents and children in the main hall, Fridays, 9.30am to 11am during the school term. For this, call Fiona Alexander on 561593.

Model making, in the upper hall takes place on Fridays, 10am to noon, contact Hugh Wark, 620531.

Photograph­y club, in the upper hall will happen on Wednesdays, 10am to noon, contact Chic Currie, 627294.

Short tennis (juniors) takes place on the first, second and third Wednesday of each month, 3.15pm to 5pm, during school term. Call Ian Brown on 551947.

Finally, try table tennis, held in the upper hall on Thursdays, 10am to noon, contact Ian Brown, 551947 to join in.

The activities are free although, in a number of cases, there will be the need to make a small charge towards heating and lighting plus the sharing of any additional costs for equipment or materials, like shuttles or baking materials.
