Couple branch out with luxury lodges

-

“We decided to create Silverwood, appropriately named as the trees on site were mostly silver birch.

“Adelle picked the name Silverwood, which fits perfectly with the country style of our resort.

“As a busy young couple with a new baby, it was a challenge to get our idea from planning to reality.

“Adelle ran the office, and worked on furnishing our luxury lodges right through her pregnancy, while I spent all my hours working on the site.”

Silverwood now has planning for 19 bespoke luxury lodges, eight spa lodges sleeping four, with luxury jacuzzi spa baths, seven spacious family lodges sleeping six, and four ‘hideaway’ lodges sleeping four.

Overall, Silverwood can accommodate 100 people.

“Our bistro will overlook the small stocked lochan, and Silverwood is based in Errol seat up to 50 people, with an additional external deck over the water.

“The bistro will be open to the public as there is no restaurant in the village,” said Rod.

“We have plans to host marquee events through the summer to offer a full unrivalled venue package to cater for events of all types.”

Tourism in Scotland has increased with Perthshire seeing a nine per cent rise, according to statistics, and with the opening of the new V&A museum in Dundee, unique accommodation is at a premium.

VisitScotland is to soon accredit Silverwood in the quality assurance scheme, once all facilities are fully open.

Adelle said: “That will be fantastic to achieve our VisitScotland accreditation, and will really make all our hard work and commitment so far, really worth it.” Rob and Adelle Sim with daughter Sienna at Silverwood
