NEWS Weather update for December
December was mild and fairly dry, according to PA weatherman Norman Pedgrift.
The temperatures were above the average for the month, and there was less rainfall as well.
Norman said:“December was mild and fairly dry.
“The figures for the temperature was 4.6 degrees Celsius, compared with the 30 year average of 3.3 degrees Celsius.
“Rainfall was 62 millimetres compared with the 30 year average of 77.
“It was a chilly first few days, which was balanced by a brief mild spell.
“Over the first half it was rather wet, with 48 millimetres of rain, and the second half was much drier.
“It was rather mild throughout the month, although we had sharp frosts on the 24th and 25th, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.”
