Lifeline bus needs needs helping hands

-

A vital lifeline to older residents in Highland Perthshire is looking for more volunteers to help out.

The Pitlochry Senior Citizens Bus takes older residents on shopping trips and for days out throughout the year.

Now, the organisers of the bus are on the hunt for more people to help run the trips.

The trips include taking residents to the shops, day centres and on social gatherings, including regular trips to and from Perth.

There are also weekly trips every Wednesday morning to Pitlochry’s Coop, where residents are picked up and dropped off from their own homes for £1.

A spokesperson for Pitlochry Senior Citizens Bus said: “To maintain and develop the service we provide to local senior citizens, we wish to increase our pool of volunteers to drive our Mercedes minibus.

“If you have a few hours to spare each month and have a clean driving licence, why not join our team.

“Full training will be given.”

Those interested can call Ian Moyes, driver coordinator, on 01796 472425 or Sandy MacGill, secretary, on 01796 473026.
