Singers raise the roof - and a fab £6k
Auchterarder Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Group violin. The audience were also treated to solo performances from Emily and Oliver Richardson from the Dunblane Cathedral Choir.
Chairperson Christine Steele said: “The concert is the flagship event in our annual fundraising calendar and this concert was particularly special as it was the 10th. To date this one event has raised over £44,000 and it is something our group and community should be very proud of.
“The initial idea to host the event came from our committee member Betty Muir who coordinates the event each year and special thanks go to her for all the work she has undertaken to ensure it is such a success.
“Thanks also to Richard Patten, event operations and private dining manager and Laura Huthens, event manager, management and all staff at the Gleneagles Hotel. We also thank Bill Tilstone and Alan Perera from the Auchterarder Camera Club for coming along to take the photographs and to those who provided raffle prizes and those who The committee had a great time at the event sold tickets on behalf of the group.
“Thanks must also go to all the friends and family of the committee who give their support to this and all the events the committee undertake throughout the year.
“The money raised makes a real difference as Macmillan strives to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.”
