Raiders target top-end whisky
Police are attempting to trace thieves who made off with high-end whisky and cigarettes during a raid at a shop in Crieff.
JL Gill on the Strath capital’s West High Street was targeted some time between 5.30pm on December 31 and 8.30am on Friday, January 4.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said two 70cl bottles of 43 per cent Macallan 30-year-old Sherry Oak Whisky 2018 were taken.
The retail value was said to be £4750.
As well as the alcohol, four cartons of Benson & Hedges Gold and Benson & Hedges Blue cigarettes were also stolen.
The representative for the nationwide force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and, in particular, anyone who might have had such bottles of whisky sold on to them from December 31 onwards.”
