Al­most £5k raised to aid home­less an­i­mals

Pets at Home in Perth held a fundraiser to help home­less an­i­mals and with cus­tomer do­na­tions, raised £4800 for char­i­ties.

Lo­cally the Perth Aban­doned Dogs So­ci­ety (PADS) will ben­e­fit from the gen­eros­ity of shop­pers at the Perth branch, as will Sup­port Adop­tion for Pets, a big­ger or­gan­i­sa­tion.

Win­ston doesn’t need adopt­ing, he be­longs to the store man­ager Gareth Grin­ley.

Across the UK, Pets At Home helped raise a stag­ger­ing to­tal of £1,704,362 for the Sup­port Adop­tion For Pets an­nual‘Santa Paws’ap­peal, launched on Novem­ber 23.

The big to­tal - to which Perth added £4,843.50 - pro­vided more than three mil­lion din­ners for home­less pets at Christ­mas.

Cus­tomers shop­ping in the pet store were given the op­por­tu­nity to do­nate 50p to help pro­vide a din­ner for pets spend­ing Christ­mas in a res­cue cen­tre.

Gareth Grin­ley, Perth’s store man­ager, thanked ev­ery­one in­volved and said: “It’s great to know that this money will also go to­wards help­ing these char­i­ties to keep aban­doned pets healthy and happy un­til they find a per­ma­nent home.”
