Trial date set

Perthshire Advertiser - - FRONT PAGE -

A new trial date has been set for a 51-year-old man, accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Perth city centre pub.

Eric Cousin, of St John Street, has denied placing his hands under the female’s skirt - and then repeatedly grabbing her buttocks and rubbing his hands over her body.

He was to have faced trial on March 20 but he will be abroad at that time.

A new trial date has been scheduled for April 30, with an earlier hearing on April 11.

His bail has been continued but special conditions have been imposed, banning him from the Greyfriars Bar in South Street - or approaching or contacting the female involved.

It is also alleged that on December 11 last year, at the well-known bar, he sexually assaulted the woman by sitting on her knee, repeatedly rubbing her body and attempting to seize hold of her buttocks.

He is then said to have seized hold of her vagina over her underwear.
