Wheel Inn closes up
The Wheel Inn
A statement from Maureen on the Movers and Shakers social media page stated:“It looks like our base at the Wheel Inn is no longer available as it appears to be closed for business.
“The good news is our sessions will continue and we will also be doing pop-up sessions and visits.”
Strathmore councillor Lewis Simpson said:“The Wheel Inn has been a valuable resource for the village, so this is very disappointing news.
“It was always well used by local groups and I hope that someone will step in and get it going again.”
Plans have been put forward to tear down the Wheel Inn and build more than 50 residential homes on the land.
Developer Juniper Residential has an agreement to take control of the venue, if and when planning permission is approved.
The bid to demolish the The Wheel Inn was withdrawn previously in October after the company learned it was going to be refused due to concerns over traffic issues.
However, the developer resubmitted the controversial plans to demolish the Scone pub and restaurant to build the homes in November.
Three Thistles and Caledonian Heritable did not provide a comment by the time the PA went to publication.
