Wishart warning offlood potential

Residents in the region are being asked to be prepared for the risks of flooding.

Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart, has called on constituents to make sure they are aware and to ensure they know what to do should flooding occur following the launch of a report by the Association of British Insurers.

Wishart has encouraged those in high risk flood areas to have a plan incase the worst should happen.

He said: “Flooding has been an issue in Perth and North Perthshire over the years and whilst flood defences have been installed in many areas, flooding is sometimes unavoidable.

“The Association of British Insurers have produced a guide on how best to respond to major floods.

“This includes information about how to minimise the risk of flooding, what to do if your home is flooded and what you can expect from the insurance claims process.”
