Shop break-in bid is probed
Police officers are appealing for information after an attemptedbreak in at a Perthshire shop.
An attempt was made to break into the Scotmid shop in Coupar Angus in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, February 21.
A vehicle attempted to back into the shop’s front door, and it is understood three men were inside it.
Now officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from members of the public who may have seen something in the Strathmore town.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after an attempted break-in at Scotmid, George Street, Coupar Angus in the early hours of the morning, Thursday, February 21.
“At around 2.50am, a vehicle attempted to back into the front doors of the shop.
“The vehicle is described as being a dark-coloured older style Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“Three men were within and officer are keen to trace them.
“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 203 or February 21 or speak to any police officers.
“Alternatively if you have information about the incident you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org”
