Learn vital life-saving skills
A class to learn life-saving skills will be held in Perth next weekend.
Heartstart Discovery will be running the free two-hour training course in emergency life support on Saturday, November 16 from 10am until noon.
Being able to perform emergency life support, a set of actions needed to keep someone alive until professional help arrives, gives a casualty the best possible chance of survival.
No medical knowledge is required to take the course.
The class will cover how to care for an unconscious person who is breathing, and how to care for an unconscious person who is not breathing and performing CPR.
It will also cover recognising the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and how to deal with it, how to help someone who is choking and how to help someone who is bleeding badly.
Defibrillator awareness will also be covered.
Helen Brady, Heartstart Discovery coordinator, said:“Emergency life support skills really do save lives so please consider registering for a session today.
“A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken in your life, come along you can make a difference. “You can save a life.” To book a place on the course, contact Helen on 01382 740400 or helenjbrady@nhs.net
